Is It Illegal To Get Paid Unlocking And Jailbreaking Iphones?

I’ve seen people on Craigslist offering services to unlock peoples iPhones. Is it illegal since they’re offering their time for money to help unlock & jailbreak so they don’t screw their phones up?
